Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukah to everyone. I hope you are all enjoying this holiday season and taking some time to relax and enjoy.
Traditionally, since my kids were little, I would organize a family photo with my great friend and photographer, Amy Connor. We would pick a theme or a color that we would all wear and usually head out to the beach to take pictures. Sounds like family fun, yes? Actually, it was pure torture trying to get that perfect photo. After several poses and yelling at this kid and that kid, plus trying to get the dog to look at the camera, we would always find the perfect shot.
After getting our photos back from the photographer, we would then pick out our favorite shot, which would then be sent out to all our family and friends. After many years of printing, stamping, and sending, I decided to take this stressful project off my plate.
These days, My son Chase now makes a holiday awkward family photo of us. Although I still love to get my family and friends’ yearly family photos, I am happy and relieved not to be pressured to get mine out anymore. I would rather spend my money and energy on something else.
